What Eddie's Quilting Bee

I think EQB stands for Experiencing
the Quintessential Breath of fresh air.
It comes from talking to the wonderful people who work and teach at the Bee; from all the creative projects displayed around the store; from all of the classes I can take; from the beautiful fabrics waiting for me to buy; from all of the gadgets I can't seem to do without; and even from the machines I am sometimes compelled to acquire.
Coming into EQB is not like going to a store; its like belonging to a club whose membership is made up of wonderful, like-minded people. Whether you want to talk about quilting or sewing or just life in general, there is great camaraderie there, and it doesn't matter if you're talking to the staff or other customers. It has a feeling of goodness and warmth that comes from the hearts of all of the people who have over time made it what it is.
Thank you for being what you are.

RUNNERS UP !!

When I got the most recent newsletter from Eddie’s Quilting Bee, I eagerly read through it from cover to cover. Yes, I did because this is always what I do when I receive the newsletter. I look at the classes, the teachers and all of the upcoming events to participate in at Eddie’s Quilting Bee. I think about what classes I might want to sign up for, which ones really inspire me and what an impressive array of national and international teachers that Eddie has one again been able to obtain for his customers. In this most recent newsletter, I did all that as well as notice Eddie’s column asking for people to tell him what his shop means to them and I knew I had to submit my personal response.
I recently participated in a quilt retreat up at Lake Tahoe with a friends quilt group. As I unpacked my equipment and supplies, and during the entire weekend, the other women commented on my great BERNINA sewing machine, my beautiful fabric that I brought and all my various pieces of sewing necessities. The constant question was ?where did you get that?? And my response was always the same: ?I got this at Eddie’s,? ?That came from Eddie’s,? ?Eddie’s Quilting Bee is on the internet, you should go online and check it out.? I thought I must sound like an advertisement (unpaid, of course) for this wonderful quilt shop that allows me to do what I love best? Quilting!
I think I might have gone over the ?100 words or less? But it is difficult to condense down to such few words how wonderful I think Eddie Leone’s quilt shop is and how fortunate the local quilting community is to have such a resource available to us. Even though I have a quilt shop down the street from my house, I would much rather make the pilgrimage to Mountain View. Why bother to go someplace else when I know that I will end up at The Bee because Eddie stocks what I want and need for my sewing and quilting avocation.

I really enjoy shopping at Eddie's Quilting Bee. The selection of fabrics is wonderful. I enjoy working with flannel, and there is always a good variety. I appreciate your commitment to the Breast Cancer Awareness Program, being a cancer patient myself. I think the thing that keeps me coming back the most, is the people that work there. They are friendly and very helpful. If there is something I can't find, they will order it for me. They will help you put materials together if you are having trouble, and they are very encouraging when you bring in something you made.
Sincerely,

A wonderful place to arouse and titillate the senses. To have the opportunity to touch and feel the fabric. But above all, to feel the warm welcome and sense of friendship and family from its incredible employees.

See, some folks do read your newsletter, I am new to quilting; with any luck it will become a passion. My visits to your store have been inspiring; your selection of fabric is excellent. Your staff is willing to give sound advice when asked. Looking forward to seeing you at the Private Night sale.

What does EQB mean to me? EQB means delight. EQB means freedom. EQB means woohoo! Delight in the selections of fabrics at EQB that I can create into something I love and am proud of. Freedom from the pressures of the day? When I sit down at my sewing machine (from EQB!) I am able to forget about the daily grind and simply enjoy the freedom from creativity. Woohoo! Look what I made! Creating is always so gratifying and exciting.
Sewing has always been a passion for me. But since discovering EQB 4 years ago, quilting has been added to my passions list. Quilting (and sewing) are my life savers. I look forward to my evening sewing time all day long. Thinking and planning about my current and future quilting projects gets me through the work day. Thank you Eddie!

Eddie's Quilting Bee means the following to me: quality merchandise, friendly and knowledgeable sales and service, plus an opportunity to learn new skills and develop creatively. For many years, this well-managed family business has earned the respect of its customers and contributed back to its community. Citizens of Mountain View are lucky and proud to have Eddie's Quilting Bee in their downtown!
Sincerely,

?You Wont Know Where You're Going Unless You Know Where You've Been? (Unless you've just come from, or are going to, visit EQB!)
Notions, Kid's panels and rich fabrics recall memories of ?Where You've Been? In life: Sewing with loved ones; attempting first-time craft projects; and finished projects reassuring everyone that handworks are here to stay.
Visiting EQB gets everyone to ?Where You're Going? Next: Expansive library, cozy work room, and a bathroom(!) Make it the place to ?go? And get away from it all; its our home away from home? (Admittedly, there's no bed, but who'd want sleep with so many goodies to see and do?)
Thanks for having been there, and promising to be there, for us all!

EQB means great classes with the best knowledgeable quilting teachers. My first quilting class was at The Quilting Bee in Los Altos. Taking machine quilting and paper piecing classes has added to the diversity of my quilting projects. The quilting teachers even talk about sewing machine maintenance.
EQB means friendly employees who are willing to help and give advice. They come to you and give the extra effort to finding the right fabric.
EQB means one stop shopping. I bought my sewing machine and sewing cabinet from EQB. The sales person was very informative without being trying to force a sale.

I have been shopping at the Quilting Bee for many years. I first came to the Quilting Bee when it was across Castro Street and down a block. I have always found the merchandise high quality and the staff most gracious and helpful. The teachers have been and are excellent instructors, very patient and knowledgeable in the project they were teaching. I have purchased three machines from the Quilting Bee, a Serger, a Rose and a Designer I. I like very much the way Eddie and Dawn have shared their life with their customers. I wish the Quilting Bee, Eddie and Dawn many more prosperous and happy years ahead.
Sincerely,

As someone who's just getting back into sewing, what it means to me is much more than a one-stop place to shop for gorgeous fabrics and accessories. From the first time I walked in in January and swooned, until now when I'm on the brink of buying a new sewing machine from you, there has always been a special kind of camaraderie at EQB. Its not just limited to the staff helping me find the perfect border colors for a quilt. I've had other customers be very helpful with my questions as they want to share their passion for their art. I haven't really seen anything like it before.
Its truly wonderful! Thank you!
